HiSet' is the new name for GED courses, which are free for the public. To join, participants must register through instructor Tom Stolarick to reserve a seat.
There is a fee to take a HiSet test. Participants can get a fee voucher through a state program by 1) attending 12 hours of free class and 2) passing the HiSet.
Anyone can take the HiSet immediately. Attending the free classes is not necessary. The HiSet creator's website, https://hiset.ets.org/, offers PDFs of practice tests people can download, print and use as study guides.
